Docker Pull Hangs Downloading Image Issue 2083 Docker/for

Docker image import: Import the contents from a tarball to create a filesystem image: docker image inspect: Display detailed information on one or more images: docker image load: Load an image from a tar archive or STDIN: docker image ls: List images: docker image prune: Remove unused images: docker image pull: Pull an image or a repository. Dec 16, 2016  Working in a enterprise environment where access to internet and automatic download of images is restricted. Is there a way to manually download images from Docker Hub, meaning without running docker pull and instead using something like docker import/export?

I am facing a problem with Docker for windows where I am pulling the docker image microsoft/windowsservercore and it contains 2 layers, one around 1.16 GB and the other one around 4.07 GB. The problem I am facing is that the 4.07GB layer always gets stuck at extracting. I have tried it multiple times in last 2 days. Pdf for mac Download easily takes around 40 minutes and extraction takes much longer, getting stuck in the middle for minutes without any progress then towards the end, it just gets stuck completely and does not proceed even if I wait for half an hour or whatever. What might be the issue, how can I debug it? Can it be due to system configuration or due to the amount of resources allocated to docker? Is it possible to allocate more resources to docker?
